Rats are getting aggressive hunting for food amid restaurant closures, CDC warns

Amid stay-home restrictions set across the country to battle the spread of the novel coronavirus, many restaurants and cafes are closed or limited to takeout and delivery, and with the reduced sales, the restaurants’ trash bins are no longer overflowing with scrumptious leftovers hordes of rodents subsisted on. Finding slimmer pickings, critters have become more aggressive, prompting the CDC to issue guidance on how to deter them.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been increased reports of rat cannibalism and infanticide in New York, as well as more rat complaints in residential areas — including in Chicago — as humans produce more food waste at home. Roving rat armies, including one caught on camera scavenging New Orleans’ empty streets, are concerning to the CDC, which says rodents can carry disease.

The CDC advises home and business owners to cover garbage cans, put bird and pet food out of reach and seal small holes rodents could access in buildings. If people follow established cleaning guidelines, they can avoid exposure to rodent-borne diseases, according to the agency.

That was my first thought, the two-legged variety of rats.

The latest warning from the liberal blockheads.

Beware of aggressive rats, angry about the restaurant closures, massive packs of rats are scouring the cities for food. Small children should be kept indoors during duration of the ratdemic.

My house is behind some small restaurants. I’ve never seen rats in near 40 years I’ve been here. My foliage prevents me from seeing the restaurants and they are relatively quiet. Recently my next door neighbor says he’s been getting rats in his backyard. About a month or so ago my Stratfordshire Terrier was seen shaking something to death. It was a rat. She is relentless at killing rodents. I can go back in one of my sheds and no sign of them. What a great little dog.

Democrat-think: Shelter in place extended indefinitely because of killer rats. Plans are being made to placate these rats with food but this aggressive program to preserve every human life will take time to succeed. Hundreds of rat monitors will need to be hired and unionized.

Does the CDC recommend we wear masks around rats?

That didn't work out well for Winston Smith.

That works until ‘they’ start breeding rats to make sure the money keeps rolling in....Like MOST government programs, there is no stopping once started AND it takes a couple of committees to finally put a stop to them

Perfect example of living off OPM

I knew DemocRATS were dumb, but I figured at least some of them could cook. Open up the economy in your blue state dumps and you DemoRATS can go back to stuffing your wiener receptacles with McDonald’s and Subway garbage again.
