Later that day, Mayor Jenny Durkan met with CHOP protesters at a nearby church where they gave her demands to be met. Anthony says they remain in a stalemate with the City.
The mayor stressed that she wanted us to remove a majority of the concrete borders that were not surrounding the immediate precinct, said Anthony.
We were unable to come to an agreement with the mayors aide while she was here, he added. So, were still stuck here at the same position we were.
Elsewhere around CHOP, some of the painted boards that had been put up on barricades was coming down. Anthony said it was to preserve the artwork.
A few dozen tents remained pitched outside of the now-abandoned and boarded up East Precinct. The protests co-op is dwindling in size. A medic station that had been set up at 10th and East Pine has also been removed.
Digging in their heels, protesters and leaders arent sure what to expect next.
I really dont know what to expect from these people, said Anthony. They committed war crimes against us but were not afraid of that.
Among those who remain, infighting still seems to be occurring on a daily basis as some of the leaders dont see eye-to-eye on how to handle things moving forward.

Why negotiate with anarchists?
Arrest them all and remove the barriers.
turn off the power and water and phones
They did it to the Branch Davidians on their own land.
the dumb dyke mayor is trying to buy these criminals off... with city funds of course.
She’s not serious about shutting it down. If he was, she wouldn’t be negotiating with anyone. This never should have occurred to begin with if she’d done her job. She’s playing a game. I hope she gets hurt real bad. She’s a waste of human flesh.
Just let them stew in this crazy quagmire. The longer it lasts the more the dyke mayor and the commie governor will have to answer for. It is easy to resolve, but those responsible don’t have the testicular fortitude to end it. One thinks she has testicles, the other doesn’t.
Its going to take a little longer to achieve a utopian enclave than they thought.
To quote Churchill, “You can’t reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth.”
Bwaaaahahahahaha! More popcorn!!!
I seriously doubt there will be any political consequences for either the mayor or the governor. Washington state is what it is.
We see it as a quagmire. They don’t perceive it as such; just little disturbance that can be resolved with time, patience and of course the outflow of additional taxpayer money. That’s how they “solve” problems (i.e., throw money at it).
Who is the Mayor negotiating with? and what gives them “standing” to negotiate? Who, in other words, is in charge in CHOP?
Winter is coming.
I don’t believe I said anything about war crimes. Where did that come from?
You may be right, but if these docile lemmings in WA state cannot see what is being done to them, then they are blind, but that is an oxymoron.
“Winter is coming.”
They will be as unprepared as the Nazis in Stalingrad.
You did not say it—it was in the article—from one of the CHOP folks.
At, not in.
The idiot mayor will knit them sweaters for the winter. She is way past DUMB and INCOMPETENT. She needs to be slapped across the room across her clueless face. And even that would not instill a drop of intelligence in her.
What the hell is with the Negotiations crapola? Go in with the fire hoses, pepper spray, attack dogs and if needed the non-rubber bullets. If “We the People” have to do it it will be really ugly.
