How to get Black Lives Matter paintings off the street.
In Redwood City, California, an inspired attorney had a novel approach to removing a city-funded mural on the street stating, Black Lives Matter. Maria Rutenburg told Redwood City that if it was going to turn the pavement into a public forum, people with alternative views should also get free speech access.
Rutenburg then asked the city to paint MAGA 2020 next to black lives matter.
The city quickly decided to remove the BLM graffiti.

“Accidentally” spill paint thinner/remover on it? Maybe a leak from a bucket or some such? You know, when you happen to drive down that street early in the morning. (before any snowflakes are out of bed in mommy & daddy’s basement) I think I could rig up a temporary dispenser. Of course it is going to be a fire hazard for a few minutes... :-O
Paint on asphalt is not a good idea.
The first accident when they slip in the snow and ice over the paint will be the start of a string of lawsuits
That’s why no one paints streets
Make a MAGA stencil, carry some spray paint. Have fun.
Wont salting and sanding destroy it?.
Block letters are not a mural.
Sloppy journalism that I expect only from the Left, though those “mistakes” are usually intentional.
I read where one place’s reply was that BLM wasn’t political while MAGA was. I suppose that’s why NY picked in front of Trump Tower and DC picked on the street leading to the WH.
There is no snow and ice in Redwood City!
Or many cars and trucks driving over the paint will mark it with their tires. But yeah, salting and sanding will wear it down. My big question is if they used acrylic or actual highway paint.
Have a can of mineral spirits fall out of the back of the car by accident, that will dissolve paint.
Attagirl. Graduate of my Alma Mater.
Put an O in front of LIVES.
Somebody should, in the dark of night, remove/erase/paint over, the ‘v’ in that graffity, and we’d arrive at the true meaning of what’s really going on with these anarchists and communists.
You completely missed the point of the article.
That is f’ing genius! I love that!
Probably highway paint but even that wears down in the winter.
