Enter Sandman is a song that crosses all boundaries.
I was on the Harley one evening and sitting at a stoplight with my stereo thumping.
Across from me, waiting to turn left, was a pickup truck with several black guys riding in the back.
The intro came on and they stood up, grinning and head banged.
*That* is the mark of a great song.
:)

Extra points for a midieval dwarf.

Whenever I found a functioning keyboard or piano in a store, I would slither up to it and bang out the intro to Aqualung.
Just because.

James Hetfield’s voice matured well.
It started like most early garage metal bands, a bit mono-tone screaming, but now its as much an instrument as his guitar.
I’m glad he stopped partying. They will definitely stand the test of time.

Bowie was a bit too fey for my taste but he definitely mastered his looks.
Annie Lennox and the Wilson sisters get a mention, as well.

Oddly enough, my second favorite Metallica album was Garage, Inc because they covered BOC’s “Astronomy”.
/carefully not mentioning Tull getting that Grammy

I think they are the ones who got the Grammys to finally recognize metal because of the Tull insult to us metal heads.
