Sad to hear. Although VH wasn’t my style of music, the guy was unquestionably among the best, and hey, if he was good enough for Les Paul, what more can be said?

Favorite story about Eddie Van Halen was when he was watching the movie “This Is Spinal Tap” with friends. He was the only one in the room who wasn’t amused. Friends asked him why he wasn’t laughing. He replied “all of this stuff happened to me.”

Drinking and smoking weren’t what carried him off. He’d been fighting cancer for a decade and it finally got him.
First got it back in 2001.
Yeah, he went into remission from that incident, but it came back, unfortunately.
Harder. Amazed he made it this long.
Well never have rock bands like VH again. It’s pretty much run its course.

As someone who used to often see those guys around Pasadena when I was a kid in the 70’s, this one hurts.

Just, damn. First concert I ever went to was thier women and children first. Huge part of my teen years. My brother even named his son Michael Anthony. My son’s middle name is Edward. Just damn
Met him a few times in the lat 70s early 80s he was always a joy to be around funny attentive and just plain cool
