I can probably finish it

What would be really good would be if anyone knows a good singer who could sing it, that could get this out on youtube and other places

The Wreck of the Biden/Lewinski

Wow! That must have been an incredible voyage! Amazing that your friend never mentioned anything about their relative....so very sad but still a significant piece of history.

Ok, this is really an odd post, but tomorrow is my 44th wedding anniversary.

Today is my 15th anniversary.

The next video in the queue had one with lyrics. I agree the audio sucked. His regular release of the song is good.

One of the best sailing ballads ever. Here’s another by fellow CNadian Stan Rogers, who died too young in a plane fire at the Cincinnati airport:

Yeah, unreal Indian summer(60’s-70’s for a week)...but seeing that line of storms heading our way. Wonder if it’ll stay together tonight, stuff usually falls apart before it gets here.

So many people do not understand how vulnerable they are. So many think the world and nature is their cozy little friend. Disneyfication of nature and culture, if you will.

P.S. If one studies the lyrics of Fitzgerald, it is a learning experience to verify and understand their meaning. Much has been written on the subject. Great song.

Yep. Your right.
I live in Livonia, and luckily the Heavy stuff misses us.

Nice! As a kid we would get to Duluth every so often. Always fun to go to the lift bridge(?) and watch the ships and the bridge.

The boats/ship references are argued about in the Navy too. My boat was the United States Ship submarine Ben Franklin, SSBN 640. It was always a boat to me. I was on shore duty when the Fitzgerald was lost. Sad deal.

Rheostatics did a good version of this song.

I still can't believe a ship of this magnitude went down in a lake.

I came across these kids doing a book report on In The Heart of the Sea. Pretty good report.

When the winter storms get going, Superior can be every bit as bad as the North Atlantic.

The Great Lakes have a penchant for getting churned up pretty well with the right wind. They’re not the ocean, of course, but they have plenty of surface area whereby if the wind is right, they can get well beyond choppy.

I remember heading out of Rocky River, just west of Cleveland, on a 21 foot boat, to do some fishing with my friend. We barely made it a mile out, couldn’t see land between the waves, turned around and went back to port. And that was a fairly mild lake - just huge swells. Storms are something else.
