“Alistair Sim, end of discussion. :)”
Agreed! 1951 production. See it in the original black and white.
The 1951 Alastair Sim version
Scrooged with Bill Murray a close runner up. Bobcat Goldwaithe was hilarious.
June Lockhart:,what’s the matter girl - did Timmy fall in the well again?
Oh, yes! I love Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol! I’ve been watching it with my son every Christmas since he was three. And the music is great... We’ll have the Lord’s bright blessing, and knowing we’re together, knowing we’re together heart and hand.
Right on! Own the cd and watch it every year.
Ringle Ringle coins when they mingle make such a lovely sound...
Humbug is humbug is giving to charity orphans are pesty and Christmas a parody.....
Bacchus voiced magoo so well.
I love the Mr. Magoo version.
Watching that now.
I also like Scrooge with Albert Finley.
1938 in some ways and 1951 in other ways.
“Scrooge” with Albert Finney is our choice and a tradition to watch every year on Christmas Eve. This year, though, we had a departure and watched “The Man Who Invented Christmas”, the story of how Charles Dickens wrote “A Christmas Carol”. It’s fantastic and as a Dickens fan myself, a favorite.
I do love the Mr. Magoo version! :0)
What channel was “The Man Who Invented Christmas” on? That sounds very interesting.
Darned straight. I am putting it the DVR in now!
It’s a movie that you can rent on Amazon for $1.99 right now. Definitely a great movie, and as an author myself, I can very much relate to how tortured he was feeling that his characters were following him everywhere.
I like Bill Murray’s Scrooged.
Maybe I was too young for it when I watched it, but Scott’s bored me to tears. What did you like about it?
Most of them are excellent. 3-4 of them are outstanding.
They’re all good. Great story.
