One of the things that made Drudge so nice was when every other site was using complex web layout, huge banners, embedded video windows, stock tickers and other user interface elements, Drudge stayed very simple.

If you stick to mostly text, with a few images scattered around, it makes for a page that can be reloaded much more quickly.

One of the reasons I like FreeRepublic is that the layout is not distracting.

Yes, Rantingly.com is the best I’ve seen. I have no vested interest. FR and that site are my go to sites. I support them both financially too.

While I have not yet looked at noahreport, I have found that the new Drudge copycat sites are not in the same league as the old, Breitbart-era Drudge. The old Drudge was excellent at finding interesting, true stories, and bypassing leftist bias.

The Drudge copycats seem to have latched onto the idea that what conservatives want is a rah-rah right-wing fake news aggregator. They want to pit our fake news against their fake news.

Wrong. Fake news, ours or theirs, is always the enemy.

Does anyone in news media remember "Get it first, but first, get it right."?
