In the north with the Eastern Europeans you had come in you guys have that....we had one too in upper Nyack on Broadway and even the city had them everywhere
In the south primarily Anglo Saxon stock delis were more rare except in cities and even then they were not common
The Midwest and northeast and south Florida....in Jewish areas....got delis
Lucky you
We got Subway and other chains...some chains are tolerable honestly Jersey Mike’s for example
Of course in the south we did get po boys and bbq
Life is a trade
Nothing beats a real deli, but even most of the chains that usually have a mixture of fresh and pre-sliced ingredients have significantly improved the quality of their ingredients over the years. Subway is a different story. I don’t know why people still eat there.
Not only is its tuna the real deal, the company says, but it’s wild-caught, too.
Rivers are loaded with carp cheap too.
What do I look like, a marine biologist?
I still have a home-built ultra-light and 4 hang gliders, along with a general aviation airplane. The general aviation airplane is a Piper Cherokee and still a great aircraft, but it is 52 years old and that is about average these days.
To answer your question, yes you can still buy or build an ultra-light aircraft. They are extremely fun to fly and like a hang glider or para-glider... still require no pilot's license. In this day and age that is a miracle.
Picture of a Skypup, the type of ultralight that I own... It is almost completely made out of sheets of Styrofoam brand house insulation and thin plywood covered with fabric.
Subway has more stores/franchises than anyone including McDonalds.
Okay, then, I’ll take a bottlenose dolphin fish sandwich! On rye. :-)

Flipper is not a dolphin
Subway’s tuna is not tuna, but a ‘mixture of various concoctions,’ a lawsuit alleges.
I like dolphin... : )
Sorry Charlie.
Same with “turkey pastrami”
The sea was angry that day, like an old man, sending soup back at a deli...
You should get hired as an expert witness.
Make it with turkey.
Is it even ‘fish’?.....................
My wife makes tuna salad ....onion, celery, Mayo....Dukes of course, and chopped sweet pickle or relish and lemon,, salt and pepper
On usually white bread or whole wheat
Maybe crackers
Probably key is proper Mayo and best canned tuna you can afford
Albacore chunk at a minimum
Although I grew up on chunk light ....
Sounds good
If you ever see avacados cheap, try stuffing them with that.
Delicious
It is a product that has been widely used since around the civil war. Recently a study showed what it claimed to be a link between women who sprinkled it on their lady parts every day for their entire lives and ovarian cancer. Other studies contradicted the initial study, but now talcom powder is no longer being sold in the United States by Johnson and Johnson because of the lawsuits.
It has been speculated that talcum based baby powder is dangerous because it sometimes might have contained minute amounts of dreaded asbestos fibers. The funny thing about that is that I used to do a lot of sand blasting and silicosis from using sand with silicon which is what most normal sand is made of... is a very dangerous and deadly disease that is far more widespread than asbestosis ever was. Maybe talcum powder had trace amounts of deadly sand in it?
Crazy! I thought the Tuna was the only REAL meat they served!? Bye bye, Subway
I worked directly with asbestos as a welder and am dying of respiratory failure.
Who can I sue?
