The Palos Verdes Peninsula is a beautiful area with steep hills.

As an Easterner I was always convinced the big earthquake was gonna hit while I was there—and take me out to sea along with the rest of the peninsula. :-)

Was it a VW Golf?

LASD report there was nothing salacious about the crash. He went off the road, rolled, and had to be extricated from the vehicle. Although injured, he was awake and talking to officers as they got him out.

Fox is reporting live. No ‘jaws of life’ used.

His car was way off the road.

Apparently, it’s the new Genesis GV80 model.

Yep, brand new model year first SUV for genesis. Which is good because now we call all blame the car and end the discussion over causality :)

I was always convinced the big earthquake was gonna hit while I was there—

The area around Palos Verdes is quite active. You may have noticed the utility pipes come up out of the ground along the road so they can be shut off quickly.

My buddy used to live above “flat rock”. Great views, lovely area but I was always a tad uneasy when visiting!

Overall, he is a great golfer and a decent guy who has done some dumb things, unlike the rest of us, of course. He also has not been afraid to defy the liberals who seem to dominate sports commentary, even golf commentary, by golfing with Trump and accepting the Medal of Freedom from him. Tiger well deserved the medal, unlike the Bruce Springsteens awarded it for doing next to nothing for this country other than being supporters of leftist politicians. Tiger has funded many veterans benefits and never, to my knowledge, raised a race issue over his playing. He just was better at the game than everyone else to begin with.

From the Daily Mail story:

“Genesis gave him a GV80 to drive for the week which is the vehicle he crashed on Tuesday morning.”

Yep, arguably a top 2 in the world (history) golfer. Talent cannot be disputed. He did screw up personally, in a fairly big way, just couldn’t settle down at the time.

He has done great things outside of golf, only complaint I might have on a personal note was the way he let Fuzzy Zoeller twist in the wind over what was supposed to be a joke.

“Tiger was a friend of Rush’s. Lived up the highway from Rush in Juniper, Fl.”

Tiger is also a friend of Trump’s who he has played golf with on more than one occasion.

Prayers up for his recovery.

As the former County Engineer for Asotin County Washington, located on the Snake River through Hells Canyon, I could take you down some roads that would definitely make your ass chew a hole in the seat. The gravel ones were the worst

Just use Google earth Rattlesnake Grade in Asotin County

That is a fairly steep uphill road. He somehow went off road into the brush. Palos Verdes Pennisula is actually an ancient remnant of a mountain overlooking the coast. On a clear day you can see Santa Catalina Island in the distance.>>> Or Stevie Nicks. I think she had a place there at one time.

I know when I get a rental vehicle I try to figure out the new controls before I drive. But even then the heater can get too hot while driving and then trying to find that little button again.

Even in my 4-month new truck (to me) I’m still having trouble with all of the little buttons on the “climate control”. Just give me one big lever for temperature and another one for fan and I’m good.

A nasty place to encounter big rigs, indeed.

I saw Tiger on live TV on Sunday when he joined the TV crew narrating the Genesis Invitational golf tournament. He commented very briefly about his current recovery from very recent back surgery and his hope he could play in the Masters Tournament this year. No doubt his leg injuries in this new accident will change that outlook.
