Looks so good I’ll make some this weekend. Tuna Fish sandwiches have to be eaten with potato chips smashed on top of the tuna.
Reminds me of a gal I knew in high school.
She was tangy?
That recipe isn’t classic
Tuna salad is easy
Onions
Celery
Both fairly but not finely copped....no way...they get lost ...you want a bit of crunch
Lemon
Mayo...Dukes....Hellman’s or best foods is u must
Sweet pickles.....critical.....relish or chopped and some juice
Salt and pepper
Maybe Dijon mustard .....cilantro no way even if I love cilantro
I forgot....chopped egg too usually
Was easy and always had an aroma two teachers liked her always got A’s.
Pretty darn close to the recipe posted.
I am amazed by folks that just use tuna and mayo
WRONG!!!
Suzie Creamcheese got away with murder..
Albacore is good, but I’ve found that premium Yellowfin is even better. Otherwise, my personal recipe is almost exactly like this one. My kids prefer it with chopped pickles instead of celery, though.
That she did wed into big money man he took the bait.
Well... we had to have something good to look forward to if we gave up chocolate and bubble gum I :)
I accidently bought oil packed canned tuna.
I about gagged on the taste.
Will be careful to only get water packed.
Oh wow~ With a child glass of Rose that sounds wonderful!
chilled glass of Rose ... Rose is not for children.
It is delightful.
Celery and onion, both in a tiny mince. Mayo (the real stuff - not lite or Miracle Whip dressing) a tiny bit of sugar, finely minced deli pickle (make sure it’s from the deli or refrigerated Clausen with lots of garlic - use about 1/4 pickle per can of tuna with a dribble of pickle juice), and a small piece of carrot, minced into tiny little crumbs. Then stir it all into a paste - no chunks. That’s how I have recreated my favorite tuna salad from Toojays, Florida’s excellent deli chain. Everyone from Florida knows Toojays. Their tuna is out of this world. My version is close, but if you are near a Toojays, get the real thing.
Tuna melt with your salad on toast, with slice of tomato and swiss cheese broiled. One of my favorite things of Lent.
Serve a couple or three little sweet gerkins on the side.
“And I squeeze that on the dogs kibble..”
Now THAT is a great idea. Thanks.
