I am going to swim in a lake tomorrow. It would be hard to drown because it takes a long walk to get to deep water. You only need a depth of four to five feet to swim.

My family has been in northern Michigan since the Homesteader’s Act. Our original cabin still stands on a tiny lake up there. That lake has claimed four of our family members since the family staked their claim.
I don’t go anywhere near that lake. I remember as a child being fearful of that lake even before I knew of its history.
