Dammeron Valley...? There’s a couple cinder cones in the region north of St. George: Santa Clara “volcano” and Veyo — both named for nearby towns. I actually have been on the flanks of the Santa Clara volcano; long ago extended family created something of a stir up in that caldera with some old tires, scrap lumber and blasting caps. Locals thought the thing might be sputtering to life.

I live in Tuolumne County, and we are still having aftershocks from the Smith Valley quake from a week ago. Every few minutes. Now there is a very severe fire in almost the same area. Supposedly more fire weather this weekend. (dry lightening and wind). I want to move but can’t make my husband.

I remember those kids who ambushed Sen Feinstein about us ‘dying’ in 10 years or so because of muh climate change and she wasn’t having any of it. Seems there were some adults with a bunch of kids and the kids were all smiling as they demanded she fix it and she told them no. They started almost crying and panicking as they insisted that we were all going to die in less than ten years and it was just awful because they really believed the lies their abusive POS parents were feeding them.
Still infuriates me.
And I was 6 when I saw on the news that the upcoming Ice Age was going to kill us all so I understand what those kids were feeling.
