That’s an ugly, disgusting label. But it should not be banned. Let the marketplace decide. As disgusting as it looks to me, I cannot see a single reason to ban it. I would spend about 5 seconds, seeing if there’s something I am missing, then approve it. Then i would fight to have my (and everyone else’s) power to approve or disapprove revoked.

Liquor sales in NC are done in ABC stores only. This beer must have a high alcohol content.

Am I to assume that you ABC stores do not buy their liquor/beer from the same distributers as the stores across the state line in Tennessee?
Guaranteed someone is getting paid to keep that particular beer off the shelf.

They do but liquor and wine sales are only allowed in ABC stores run by the state. They only allow package beer under a certain alcohol percentage in grocery or convenience stores.

So a panel determines what to sell. You can’t even shop in an ABC store. You order from a counter.

Now, my experience there was 30 years ago but it seems to be the same based on this story. They made it difficult to get large orders for bars, etc.

Worst state laws ever. All prohibition based. Of course that leads to bribes and kickbacks.

Also, those distributors are controlled by them. Frankly, distributors in all states are granted and highly political.

The Anheuser Busch distributor in TN was once owned by Ned McWhorter who was a 2 term governor.

No, we can buy wine at the grocery store. But liquor is only at the ABC stores.

Couldn’t in the late 80s. We left NC in 1990.
