I used to take my dog for walks with my bicycle. She loved it. Then she became a runner. As soon as I was on the bike she’d take off running as fast as she could for about half a block pulling me. But! She got to where if she saw another dog or cat or anything else she’d try to go after it. Scared me since she’s 75 lbs....so we stopped the bike runs. I was using a bicycle dog leash. They’re attached to the bike.
From your link...
“”This may just be a trend in our society that personal responsibility for one’s actions is no longer the order of the day,” said Metra attorney C. Barry Montgomery.”
The attorney gets it.
There...I fixed it.
I didn’t know there was a dog leash for the bicycle. I ride with my small dog in a backpack - specifically for dogs. He goes crazy when he sees it and loves riding on the bikes with us. The large dog goes into a bucket in front of my son-in-law’s bike.
My instructor in dog training class told us to never tether a dog to a bicycle, so I never have.
When my large dog - around 78-80 lbs. was younger, she pulled me over with her leash - I saw her spot and point at a squirrel and I knew she was about to take off - as I was dropping the leash, it caught on my little finger and broke it. It’s still bent at a weird angle to this day.
