I have mixed feelings on the cops, but at the end, the original officer separated them. Which is the best he could do that the time. From there she had two chances - the next morning she could have not shown up, and a week later when he left her in Salt Lake. Unfortunately she was already suffering from abuse syndrome (girlfriend’s interview) and that fatally clouded her spidey senses.

I’m puzzled why he’d return to his parents’ house if he killed her. Wouldn’t he be less likely to be caught if did something else. If they found the body sooner he’d have been easy to take into custody since it was known he was at his parents.

He is going to get a new trial, why would you want to keep newly discovered evidence out of it? Why do you want a man who should be free to spend his life in jail? Is this a gender war thing?

I think everyone for some time have known in their gut that Gabby was dead, murdered by her fiancé. I know law enforcement has to be very tight-lipped right now, they don’t want to blow the case against the fiancé. I hope law enforcement goes after the parents, who appear to be amoral scumbags like their son, and they’re covering up for him.
My bet they will find she died of strangulation or blunt force trauma. He snapped and fled leaving her where he killed her. I bet they are combing that van with a microscope. If he killed her in the van they will find evidence, you can’t clean it enough these days to hide your tracks. If he killed her outside the van there’s still a good chance he left trace evidence from his clothes unless he stripped down to his underwear. But so far there’s no report of any evidence that firmly convicts him, although I don’t think anyone has any doubts. I hope it doesn’t end up like that case in Aruba where everyone knows who did it but there was never enough evidence to convict.

Anyway, the police video showed the victim to be a vapid tunc. The dude himself was probably mental as well. Either way, everybody has it coming, especially if you are stupid and make poor choices. This young woman was far away from home and living with him and his family. They supposedly loved her, too. But, look at what they did when their son came home without her.
