Better than serial numbers. They should be recorded on Blockchain. That would be something everybody could see and the data would be preserved for all time.

How many ballots went out?
Who returned a ballot?
Were only validly recorded ballots counted?
Were only valid voters sent ballots?

That would end a lot of the cheating right there.

I like AZ Rep Finchem’s idea about putting an embedded watermark visible only with UV light. Kinda like money so it would be really hard to duplicate. Cost would be $.25 per ballot.

I read that, its the best and most comprehensive plan I have heard of. Probably why it seems to be going nowhere. It would be a game changer.

Democrats want to know about your assets, cash transactions, your vaccination status, your ability to defend yourself, etc.

But your own verifiable, traceable ballot?

Naah.

“But serial numbers also mean that they can track how people vote...”

You mean in the same fashion that a serial number on a dollar bill will show all its transactions and who spent it?

And how do ink stained fingers stop mail in ballot fraud?

I wish people would stop with the computers/internet/high-tech so-called “solutions” to election fraud.

We know you’re smart, and we know you mean well, but the more you remove the process from the understanding of ordinary people, the more you *increase* the likelihood of fraud.

We have serial numbers here in Raleigh. Before they give you your ballot, they stop and white a code from a computer by hand in a space at the top of the ballot. I asked the poll workers about this, and they were very evasive about it. Another guy I talked to who was a volunteer poll worker in another county told me that yes, they could use this to go in and find your actual ballot. He claims it is anti-fraud.

“Just make people show their ID when they vote in person at their ONE voting location, check it against voter registration, make sure they haven’t voted already, and witness them going into the booth on Election Day”

Easy now!

Logic and reason have NO PLACE in Goobermint.

Ballots are traceable. People want to believe that the ballots are tge problem. In 2020 after 230 years is elections we need to figure out how to do an election

It’s about republican legislators allowing cheating. That’s all. They are tasked with keeping Trump out of office. With keeping tge eeican people away from having a seat at the table.

Yep, if you are given a specific dollar bill and then you write what you bought with it on that bill, you can be traced.

Well we could require going back to the horse & buggy days but that
isn't a solution in today's vastly technological world. Things can be
made secure if only the effort is put into the process of doing so. A
few years in the jail system for those that break the rules would be
a good beginning.

In the ‘80s when I was doing ballot design, they were IBM punch cards, and each had a unique number. A “batch” would be provided to a precinct, with the numerical series clearly logged.

We saw that last year, before Biden was sworn in.

But who would ever be able to see and really audit them? Look at the hoops some State elected legislatures are going through just to audit the last election! There is a group of people who feel they need to run the place even if no one will vote them into office. What does a good Commie do? CHEAT!

Secret balloting was introduced so members of a certain party could no longer be sure people voted a certain way (and were worthy of getting paid a bribe).

Without secret ballots: Thanks for voting for Don Donkey again - here’s your $20 - we’re looking forward to your continued support in 2022.

By stopping mail-in ballots.

I doubt that genie can be put back in the bottle. At least Illinois has voters request a ballot by mail or via a web page. You identify yourself by signature, DL #, or last 4 digits of SS #. You sign the ballot envelope and then mail it in or place it a drop box. It is slight better than just sending out ballots to people on the voter rolls. If one believes Chicago vigorously checks signatures, I'll have a bridge to sell them.

“It was an ‘anonymous’ survey sent individually to us via company mail...but with serial numbers.”

Company I work for did that....many complained. They changed it...replaced the serial number with your birthdate!!! It was a little better at least because there are about 19,000 employees so there are likely many duplicates. But if you mentioned something specific about your department...you may be pegged.

LOL, I think it went right over the heads of most people where I work. As it is, I trust NOTHING when it comes to surveys!
