She needs to lose weight. Then her problems will go away as men find her attractive.

This woman has turned herself into an unattractive fatso. But she got the new brain implant because she won the squeaky wheel contest. She probably has poor self-image, does like herself, and men especially but also women have no interest in being near her. But this is more because of her personality than her girth. Psychological counseling would probably have been of more value to her... but a good deal of her issues come straight from our society.

She was/is doing counseling, etc. I’m sure she will become more active as her depression heals. And she will be better able to do less comfort eating. Depression is biochemical as well as psychological. The pain is there whether you have a sensible outlook on life or not, because the mood lifting chemicals you need are just not getting into the cells that need them, in sufficient quantity.

In Alcoholics Anonymous they famously say “we don’t front sobriety”.

But they are VERY willing to front cures for depression. I found this quizzical — their focus is on quitting drinking, not necessarily getting at the root cause. I have also noticed that just about everyone else also fronts sobriety for depression.

In the big book they say: “Physicians who are familiar with alcoholism agree there is no such thing as making a normal drinker out of an alcoholic. Science may one day accomplish this, but it hasn’t done so yet.”

It would appear that science is more focused on getting a “cure” for depression than for alcoholism. I can foresee the day that all those millions of people on Prozac will be required to take the Covid Vaccine as well as this Borg brain treatment.

True. How does science measure a laughter-convulsive
placebo effect though with a piano present?

And yet, alcoholics are so quick to front sobriety to depressives.

I perceive that depression is MORE stunning, MORE baffling, and MORE powerful than alcohol because a person with depression wakes up at 3am depressed without ever having put a foreign substance into their bodies.

A form of self-medication, yes. And very often towards depression. But when an alcoholic stops drinking, usually the depression remains.

In AA, they say sumthin like “that’s when you have to start working on your REAL issues” but they end up going a mile wide and an inch deep.

Sorry, I had an omitted word, my post meant to say that she probably does not like herself.

Fatness tends to run in my family. Most of it is due to poor nutritional choices and inactivity, but judging from the propensity, heredity may have some influence as well.

My youngest daughter who is 40 just had “gastric bypass” surgery. She has no apparent self esteem issues but has struggled with psychological problems in the past. She managed to lose 100 pounds once before on some type of “organic” liquid diet. But of course she gained it all back and then some. This time she decided to go with surgery to correct a problem that could have been avoided using the same technique that she used before.

From the article, “In the early few months, the lessening of the depression was so abrupt, and I wasn't sure if it would last,” she said.

“But it has lasted. And I've come to realize that the device really augments the therapy and self-care I've learned.”

I have a friend who had a serious head injury this past year. He swears that an “advanced electroshock” device similar to “tens” that works with a cell phone app has been his salvation.

https://icare-pemf.com/

"iCare is a mobile platform for delivering frequency specific protocols via PEMF (Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Fields) to clients who want to get well as quickly as possible, but could not otherwise afford a home FSM unit, or daily sessions with a practitioner. With the immediate connectivity of our smart phones practitioners can easily and instantaneously push updated protocols to clients as they improve and as their needs change."

Sounds like gobbly goop to me. I am highly skeptical that this device provides more than a placebo type effect to my friend... but he believes that it works as well as this woman believes that the device implanted in her skull works. I would personally rather go with the less intrusive device.

When will the following get their brain transplant? Joe Biden, K. Harris, Maxine Waters, AOC, Liz Cheney, Adam Kizinger, Hank Johnson and Shelia Jackson-Lee? Maybe their IQs will be high double figures.... 🤓
