Where do you get the idea Amazon is not in Seattle? It is in Seattle, just a couple miles north of the courthouse and about ten miles south of the borderline with city of Shoreline at 145th Street.

It has huge housing for its workers there in downtown Seattle.

Amazon should be forced to stay and endure that toilet bowl city.

I was thinking of the business.....warehouses etc. Not the corporate office. Sorry, I was wrong.

Wanna bet what Amazon is really doing is attempting to extort tax and/or other financial bennies from state and local pols....?

That actually sounds reasonable; but, Seattle has just trashed it's own city. So, there may not be enough tax breaks or other benefits to overcome what they have done. Years of "progressive" politics has ruined what was once a wonderful, beautiful city.

My husband's company has allowed "work from home" since the beginning of the Covid nonsense. He is still home and is not wanting to return to the Seattle office. On his walk from the bus stop to his office he is often dodging human excrement on the sidewalk and stepping over drunk or drugged out "homeless" people. Once, an older woman who rides the same bus as my husband asked him to walk her to her building. Usually, there was another man who would do that for her; but, he wasn't there that day. She was afraid to walk a few block to her office alone.

When my hubby and I moved to the Seattle area when we were first married, we walked around Seattle at night and never felt afraid. I think I would be afraid to walk around Seattle during the day at this point. As I said, Seattle did this to itself and the productive people and companies that are in Seattle are now looking for a new home. I know the article that you linked to points to Bellevue as an alternative. It is just as lefty as Seattle; but, they have not let the city suffer and have kept it a nice looking city, albeit, an expensive one.

I think their warehouse was done about 6 months ago but those employees are just local minimum wage slave labor. I was talking about their management class. Puke.

I am in Sun Crest living like the Unabomber. No one bugs me out here and I have a way better cabin on the lake than he ever did.

I moved here from North Spokane about 2 years ago and am loving everything. I never go downtown unless absolutely necessary.

Word of warning you better be a good cook because our 3 restaurants suck.

Not just hard to believe, but simply not true. Amazon has a rigid and low salary ceiling of about 160k. Even their executives /csuite make only 160kish in salary. Look it up.

No one in Amazon—no one—is getting a million dollar salary. You can get that in an equity grant at a high level within the company. But that vests over 4 years in a substantially graduated fashion.

Considering that the lifeblood of government is extortion turn about seems fair to me.

Maybe so. My dermatologist didn’t tell me about it, in fact he was surprised that I knew. I thought it might be his son, but he said his nephew. Why does he make so much? No clue. Certainly a cash-rich company. And kid must be very good, charming, personable. My demo certainly is.

And mine was Chicongo. As a teenage girl, I could take the train from Hinsdale, 20-miles west, get off at Union Station and walk across the loop to my dentist’s office on Michigan Boulevard. Today, I’d be murdered, gang=raped, and eviscerated before I got there. Sad as hell.

I would have been better if Bezos had put his corporate offices outside of Seattle where the warehouses are. I believe he actually started the business down in Kent where there is more available land instead of crowding into Seattle downtown.

At least Gates had the brains to put Microsoft out where there was a lot of available land.

I would only wish Amazon moving into my worst enemy’s city or state.

“.....But think about the jobs!”

No. These tech companies bring their locusts with them into red states and ruin everything. The jobs aren’t worth it.

Time for Amazon to move to a more conservative area and screw it up too!

Amazon has built a massive facility literally on the edge of the air port in Oklahoma City. Building is half a mile long.

We have xlnt little restaurant on South Hill that doesn’t charge and arm and a leg, the South Hill Grill, so close I can walk over.(So is Trader Joe) You always need reservations unless you don’t mind waiting, it’s so popular. Also, Mizuna downtown has fabulous food, really a world-class place. Very high prices to match. Worth a trip once a year. Lunch always cheaper than dinner in restaurants and the quality just as high.

I’m a lousy cook and don’t care about food, often forget to eat. My daughter in ID 40 miles away is a wonderful cook, should have been a professional chef. Makes everything from scratch. She’s an inch shorter and twice as wide as I am. LOL

Typical leftists: they defecate in a perfectly clean bed, aided and abetted the filth that did the defecators, lie thru their teeth about how / why the bed got so filthy, blame everybody but themselves , then look for another clean bed.

( brain )Wash, Rinse, Repeat. With the media 100% on their side.

COMING TO YOUR RED STATE, and they’ll get away with it all AGAIN !!!!
