Spirit in the Sky? Okay song. Lousy Theology.
"Never been a sinner. I've never sinned. I've got a friend in Jesus"

“Greatest” ?
Blah!
I like the song, but that lyric has always bothered me.
Is a Christian what a Christian thinks he is, or is he what God says he is? The lyric understandably agitates, but there is a way to understand it when viewed from the perspective of objective justification. In this life we will always agonize over theology. This song has a way of amplifying the agony. No substitute for a solid, ancient hymn or psalm.
A tune heard repeatedly on rock stations in north Texas.
Rock on, rock hard, rock loudly. Impossible to simply listen as it MOVES you into the beat. Reminiscent of the
comedy “Night at the ROXBURY”.
Did wonders for Youngkin’s rally in Virginia.
I wouldn’t call it the “greatest”, but it certainly had a cool groove to it.
I’d be interested in his take on Desmond Decker and the aces and their one hit wonder the Israelites.
Know any trivia about lynyrd skynyrd?
😂
I can see them playing that in a movie, lol! It’s actually not a bad song. Has that hippie vibe going on, too.

Yeah. I know lynyrd skynyrd’s son-in law. Really XD
Mrs. V-TWIN is crackin’ up. Lol

I’d be quite sure that he wasn’t being literal here. You accept Christ as your savior, in other words, he’s your friend, then your slate is wiped clean of sin. Hence you weren’t a sinner, you aren’t a sinner, and you won’t be a sinner.
“Greenbaum due to poor choices, ended up working as a cook in a restaurant”
No surprise here.
EVH took a lot of secrets to his grave. His "Brown Sound" from the early VH albums. Was it a stock Marshall Plexi? A modded Marshall Plexi? A variac? Ted Templeman's studio wizardry? Or just Eddie's fingers? He was never clear and often changed his story.
Can't blame him. That was HIS sound and he wanted to keep it.
We sin and continue to sin. It is the blood of Christ that cleans that stain of sin....
Of course, I'm not a pastor so what do I know. Just a humble sinner....
