The generic or store brand is just fine, and a lot cheaper.Not true. I tried to make a cheesecake with Aldi store brand. It never softened. Even after some microwaving it still had the texture of a rubber eraser. Tasted OK, but no go for mixing

Walmart carries a Cheesecake Factory in the bakery freezer with the ice cream cakes. About $15, but worth every bite.

I’m in the northeast and I haven’t seen any cream cheese shortage. It’s gone way up in price, but there’s plenty of it. I make cream cheese sugar cookies.
