Some upcoming storm may be termed an Insurrection Event. Doesn’t get scarier than that. Weather like that is a threat to our democracy.

“chainsaw bayonet” XD XD

Yes!, that’s the part of the storm forecast to saw off part of Massachusetts!

Maybe Provincetown will float off to Greenland.

10” in Buffalo is just normal par for the course.

I grew up in Orchard Park, NY(home of the Buffalo Bills).
From there down to the PA border is actually the snow belt.
Many times OP would get 12” and the city to the north would get a few inches. Niagara Falls would get nothing. The worst area was from Erie, PA up to Jamestown, NY and the foot hills of the Appalaichan Mtns.

I was there for the Blizzard of 1977(14 years old). We got 3’ and the wind blew 75mph. School was canceled for a week.
We had snow banks that were 8’ or more high. Drifts over 10’. They called out everyone with a snowmobile to check on elderly people who could not get out of their house.

About ten years ago(when my mom was still alive) they got about 6’ in Orchard Park. My mom had to hire a guy a with loader to clear her 100’ driveway. The regular snow plow guy could not do it with his 4WD pick up.

Supposed to get 4” of snow - got a bit of rain. I’d say the bomb cyclone bombed (at least in western VA).

We have General Altimax Artic snow tires on our Outback. A foot of snow? No problem, unless it’s really wet stuff that compresses in front of the car. A few years ago my wife took a vid of me pulling out from about 14” covering everything, including the car. It was great - I just drove right out.

To be fair, the cold associated with this system did have me scrambling a bit, re-checking to make sure the heat to the chickens, the wellhouse, pipes, antifreeze in the cars, etc., was all in order... Easy to get lax in a up until now very mild (except for tornados) winter.

Now, go to replace the headlight clusters, as I just did the day before this little snow hit, and you’ll find some stuff to gripe about...

It’s going off the coast and will hit NE Nova Scotia and Newfoundland hard. For us... a nothing-burger!

6” on the coast of Maine, 6-8” in Boston, 12” in Yarmouth, NS., 24”+ Antigonish, NS with winds gusting to over 64 KNOTS before turning more ENE and heading into the Atlantic south and then east of Greenland.

Stormy - YouTube

You were the sunshine, baby, whenever you smiled

But I call you Stormy today

All of a sudden that ole rain's fallin' down

And my world is cloudy and gray

You've gone away

Oh Stormy, oh Stormy

Bring back that sunny day

So glad I’m back in Texas!
I miss the snow a little bit, but not a storm like that.
