Leftists like telling others what to do. No respect for Liberty.

Yes, Italians were sent to camps, but not indiscriminately. Those suspected of having Nazi sympathies, those who lived too close to the coast where they could signal Japanese ships, etc. Italian businesses in SF were closed for awhile, even the restaurant owned by Joe DiMaggio’s father.

Pearl Harbor was bloodier because of traitor Japanese Americans.

What evidence is there that "traitor Japanese Americans" had anything to do with the Pearl Harbor air raid?

EXACTLY right. My Japanese friend’s family lived in Hawaii and said they were not interred because there were too many of them. His sister was recently made a director of a huge international bank. Smart family.

INTERNMENT OF AMERICAN CITIZENS BASED ON ETHNICITY OR RELIGION IS REPUGNANT, UNAMERICAN AND INDEFENSIBLE.

AMEN, BROTHER! PREACH ON!

Internment of American citizens of Japanese descent is EVIL.

Indeed, it is. The government got away with depriving natural-born American citizens of their Constitutional rights, so if they want to try it again, say, against those who took part in the J6 protests, they now have a precedent.

There was only one attack on the mainland USA, an oil refinery outside of Santa Barbara, CA.

And what if we ever go to war with China, are you going to be so trusting of Chinese-Americans? Just look at Elaine Gu, what side will they be on?

Can you not express yourself without abusive and obscene language?

Also, what gives you the right to tell others to shut up?

All right, I ordered the book, but my wife is not going to like it because we are living in a 30-foot RV and she thinks I already have too many although I have put over 1,000 in storage. This looks like a great source, and it seems to make such good sense.

I have a speculation I posted today about the internment. It is at:

Atomic Research, Pearl Harbor and Japanese Internment Eighty Years Ago

Yeah whatever. A Zero damaged over Pearl Harbor made an emergency landing on the Hawaiian Island of Niihau. There were some native Hawaiians living there, and a couple of first generation Japanese living there.
The first generation Japanese were called to translate for the wounded pilot because the locals had no idea war had broken out and they were caring for him. The Japs instead colluded with him, armed him, helped him destroy papers, got a machine gun out of his plane and took all the Hawaiians prisoner. Fortunately a big Samoan body slammed him on a wall and killed the pilot.

The rapidity with which the three long term Japanese residents on the island swapped sides was a big part of the conversation in DC. So be sure to thank those three traitors for their acts.

It was a war, and we couldn’t have spies all over California.

My bet is that Pipes would be comfortable with interning everyone who disagrees with him on anything.

Not exactly “never” sport. Long term Japanese resident treason happened on the morning of the Pearl Harbor attack.

Japanese & Italians/germans were interned at near equal numbers.

There were around 14,000 Germans and Italians interned.

There were over 120,000 Japanese Americans.

Not even close.

The same as it was for the Germans and many Italians,,,although some Italians were interned..

The only reason the Japanese were were imprisoned en masse is because they were easy to see.

This country doesn’t work that way. Ww2 Era made fascism popular to varying degrees all over.

German Americans were put into camps in World War I.

I don't know of any Germans put into camps in World War II. Captured German soldiers, yes, but German American civilians? I've never heard of it before.

During WWII, the United States detained at least 11,000 ethnic Germans, overwhelmingly German nationals. The government examined the cases of German nationals individually, and detained relatively few in internment camps run by the Department of Justice, as related to its responsibilities under the Alien Enemies Act.
