Found this:

“Among those at a press conference Tuesday hosted by the Berkeley Institute and the biotech group Alin Foundation was Academy Award-winning actor and cancer survivor William Hurt. “It’s a moment you only know when it happens to you,” said Hurt, who was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer that spread to the bone. May 16, 2018”

Mine as well. I was under the impression prostate cancer spread slowly; dad’s doctor even told me dad would pass from something else before the cancer it was so slow growing. He was wrong.

Wow. Surprising but then again I didn't think of him as 71. Body Heat, essentially a remake of Double Indemnity with more graphic sex, was a great flick. It put Hurt and Kathleen Turner and Lawrence Kasdan in the upper echelon. RIP.

I watched that one not long ago, agreed it was a very good movie. Also liked Broadcast News.

There are multiple versions.
The aggressive form is not as common, but it’s a bad deal.

My Dad got it before PSA testing was commonly used.

I liked him as General Ross in the Hulk.

Same here...fought hard for about 19 years, but the last 6 months was brutal. He was 74.

Ye, Gorky Park was well done. I enjoyed it even after reading the book.

I credit the PSA test and the doctors ordering it, for saving my life (so far)—twice. First time urologist said it was ‘moderately progressive’ and advised prostatectomy which I had six years ago. Two years later, PSA started going back up. Had radiation treatments. So far, PSA is now undetectable.

I remember that the Obama health people said that PSA testing was being over done and should be restricted (along with mammograms). Glad my doctors didn’t take their advice.

One of my favorites. Mr. Recine—the ultimate in chump lawyers. Love how everyone in Body Heat is sweating. RIP

Just finished “Goliath” with Billy Bob Thornton as the main character.
Hurt played the heavy in the 4 season series.
Great stuff, as usual for Mr. Hurt.
RIP.
