That’s John Hurt…different guy. But great scene…both times.
That was Jurgen Prochnow.

i know! you could feel the humidity thru the screen.
Will be missed
Sad news. A great actor. Very underrated by many in Hollywood. He made some excellent films in the 1980s.
Body Heat was an early favorite of mine. A late favorite is the truly twisted Mr. Brooks, where he plays Kevin Costner’s alter-ego.
As to PC... it can go on for a long time, or be HIGHLY aggressive. It got my father, and I’ve got it too, although its treatable for now. Progress is being made in therapeutics, but its painfully slow..
Body Heat. Increible realism from Hurt saved the film.
Get yourself tested!

My Dad got it before PSA testing was commonly used.

And how do you propose this testing be done? What type of test do you propose?
This idea that PSA testing can be used to detect prostate cancer has to be one of the longest medical stories of disinformation to exist in the modern era of medicine. It has perpetuated for almost 20 years after being disproven.
Dr. Thomas Stamey from Stanford University School of Medicine published a paper that promoted the idea of using PSA testing re prostrate cancer in 1987. After collecting more data in the ensuing years, he refuted his original study in 2004 and said that while the PSA test did have value for some things, it had zero value in identifying prostate cancer.
Correct me if you can but I don’t believe there is a test.... outside of the good old ‘anal digital exam’ or a ‘biopsy’ and both of those are fraught with problems.
This is a fairly good link that gives a reasonable history about this....
damn, watched him last night in Gorky Park, RIP
That’s John Hurt. He died about 6 years ago.

wonder if artificial sweeteners have a connection with all of the different types of cancer that have affected our population over the years...
Huge lib.
In the movie yes. But it was Hurt in the 3 part mini series. Which was much better than the movie in my opinion
My parents & I liked him in “Gorky Park.” R.I.P.
One of my favorite actors in one of my favorite movies (Body Heat). It you haven’t seen it, look for it. RIP, William Hurt.
Accidental Tourist was my favorite. The opening scene on the plane gave us an idea what it was all about.
Get a PSA test. If your PSA is high see a urologist and they will probably suggest an MRI and a biopsy just to be thorough. That’s what I did. The biopsy procedure is not fun but it is worth the peace of mind.
