It's a great flick. Heartbreaking in some parts.... Geena Davis was great too.
I need to, and will, watch Accidental Tourist again. Thanks😊
Great in Dark City
71 is the new 61 for a lot of Americans now. So I’ve been told.
Not ancient. Not yet fossilized.
Terrible disease. He lived with it for a long time. May he RIP
damn shame and only 71, still so much life left to live :( damn cancer takes another good one..RIP
Rest in peace William, you will be missed!
Lived almost 3 years with it. I would not take any treatments. I’d be ready to go if I was 68-his age when it appeared. I say that now. Might be too scared if it really happened.
Small wonder I thought he’d already died. I figgered it was just a Mandela effect kinda thing...
That should be old news to everyone, but it's not. Thanks for posting.
Get the PSA test. PSA test may not be the end all indicator but it’s a good start. Mine was high, got a biopsy done (not pleasant but I lived), got the surgery and the radiation and I’ve been clear going on 18 months.
Big Chill and The Doctor are 2 of my favorites!
I know not many will care for this reference but he was great in The Big Chill as the stoner with no ambition who takes over for the deceased, Alex.
He always brought what he had. RIP
LOL!
That’s fine... the PSA test isn’t completely useless as it does have value in establishing BPH https://www.urologix.com/patients/about-enlarged-prostate-bph/how-is-bph-diagnosed.php
As for the biopsy, I fail to see how random needles gives anyone peace of mind. The standard “12-core prostate biopsy” just simply isn’t that reliable https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3668408/ Go to the ‘Conclusions’ to find this gem... “The detection rate of prostate cancer with the 12-core biopsy technique in patients with proven prostate cancer on radical prostatectomy specimen was considerably low when repeated in the same way ex-vivo. Effectively, repeat biopsies done in patients with persistent PSA elevations and other biopsy indications can still demonstrate negative cancer findings despite the fact that these patients have prostate cancer.”
On a related note, a few years ago there was a study a few years ago that looked at the prostrates in the cadavers of young men... I think the age was 30 and under was the cutoff for the specimens used for the study. Regardless, 25% of them already had prostate cancer.
Given the foregoing, I think the best approach is to be very pragmatic... All men will get prostate cancer but it will only be a problem for and kill a small percentage. The best thing a person can do is live a healthy lifestyle and do those things that promote good prostate health.... and for the most part after that, forget about it.
We all die of something.....
"Arkasha" - Irina Asanova (Joanna Pacula)
he sure did play a creep in Goliath very well
