Mine is a constant, high pitched whine. I've identified the frequency as about 5500Hz. At my age, my top end is around 8000Hz.

Lol, not yet. Have had several stacks. Even had a Plush. 4 6l6 and a 510 iirc. Best amps are Mesa, Marshall, and Peavey.

Apparently, NO mammals can regenerate those hair cells ...
