My unit was a smooth top Dodge with a 400 in it and it would bury the 150 speedometer.

Obviously no NASCAR restriction plate was installed. Did the guy think he was at Tallladega?

Rocked me, too!
Of course, only a highly trained professional race car driver, or a 20yo, who is still immortal, can drive at speeds like that and not have his heart just seize up!
Ah, to be young, fearless, and mindless again!
Cops shoulda just let the dogs eat him.

My Honda S2000 topped out at 160. Not that I tried it, but there were yahoos on YouTube having their girlfriend record it on their phones.

Good thing he didn’t have a Maserati, he might have gone 185,
lost his license...

I think that’s what the Asian dude had in the first, or close to first, Fast and Furious movies.

He’d have to get a limo, and ride in the back.

It was a great car. Everything you needed and nothing you didn’t. More fun than my Ducati Monster and a lot more comfortable.

my F550 Work truck has a speedometer that goes to 140, But its governed to not go past 3000 rpm in 5th gear, about 83 mph.
my 94 explorer’s speedo maxed at 85 and I know I got it past that at least once. real funny watching the needle go past that and point to the floor. Not my smartest idea ever, I blame it on being young and dumb....

Mercedes are designed for the Autobahn where there is no speed limit, and they drive fast.
