I remember back in the 1960s when TANG was sold in large decorative glass jars. I still have several I purchased back in 1968! My Mother served that Tang sh!t for a year, and I spoke up and said "can we have real orange juice"".

He replied, "In summer it's nice. It's like Kool-Aid!"I can get drunk on Bud faster than just about anything because it's so easy to drink it fast. Like cold water with some flavor in it.

I went to a reunion at my college in Atlanta (Emory) a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't been back to Atlanta since 42 years ago when I graduated. We had Sunday free and I told my wife we needed to stop by the old college haunt, Moe's and Joe's, if it still existed. Imagine how thrilled I was to see that it was not only still there, but to learn that Sunday is $5 PBR pitcher day. Life was good.

How funny is it that I’ve gone from orange Tang to
orange Metamucil.

When I was a kid, they used to sell nutella in glass mugs.
I use old marie’s dressing jars and nestea jars to store baking supplies, pasta and beans.

We loved Sloppy Joe (Manwich) when we were kids; but when I try it now, the canned stuff is too salty. My wife makes homemade Sloppy Joes. A pound of ground beef (your choice on the fat content), finely chopped green pepper and onion (again, to your tastes), ketchup and mustard and some brown sugar.

We tried from scratch once, and it didn’t turn out real well. Will have to try again.

There was a Virginia jam-jelly company that sold it’s jellies in these beautiful tumblers with historic Virginia scenes on them. I think we used to get them from my Aunt, but eventually all the glasses broke. I’ve tried finding them on Etsy; the only name that comes to my mind that might fit is ‘Old Dominion’, but that doesn’t come up as a preserves company.

I remember those! Turkey and gravy boiled in the bag and poured on two pieces of white bread, and I was fed.

Yeah, I’ve missed peanut butter ever since the peanut allergy pandemic killed off half the world and peanuts were made illegal. This here soy butter just ain’t cutting it.

Peanut butter and tang sandwiches.... trust me. They were quite good.
PB & sugar was okay too.

Add some crushed red pepper to it and a bit of cumin if you like that sort of thing.
My Mom used to make what she called “barbecues” - sloppy joes essentially. It was ground beef, ketchup, mustard, finely ground carrots, salt and pepper if I recall correctly. I’d add onions and some garlic to it if it were me.
