But letting someone walk for actually attacking Rudy is OK.

Also, 5 people did not die in the so-called riot on Jan 6, but dozens did during the so-call “peaceful protests” (with fire) all year long before Jan 6.

Clarence Thomas' gun decision ensures that the next January 6 will be much deadlier

This argument is devoid of reality on many levels.

First, there were lots of people who owned firearms who entered capital buildings on January 6. And yet they did not go there armed. So what is the point of making sure they can't buy guns when they weren't using them anyway even though they had them?

Second, roughly 9 of 10 criminals surveyed in jail for crimes where they used a gun did not legally own the gun. The fact that criminals willing to commit a gun crime are not allowed to own a gun seems to have no effect on them never-the-less committing a crime with one.

Third, the skirmishes on January 6th were completely preventable. Some people think it may have been intentionally allowed to happen, but whether it was intentionally allowed to happen or not it could have been prevented by simply having better managed security rather than the soup sand-witch of protesters being waived into the building en masse. So a very easy solution is at hand and with the benefit of hindsight it seems reasonable to expect that it won't be allowed to happen again any time soon.

Finally, the most remarkable thing about January 6 was not that it was a particularly violent over all, it was far less violent than many "mostly peaceful protests" that include looting businesses, burning buildings down, and attacking police stations. The remarkable thing about it was that it was not Left wing. The Left occupying a government building to put pressure on politicians is so common among the Left its like a dog-bites-man story. Anybody else doing it is like a man-bites-dog story. It seems that January 6 type events are rare, provided one does not count the regular far worse Leftwing events as January 6 type events in which case they are common place. But from the context of this writing the author does not count Leftwing events.

I sure hope so.

It is about time that our leftist corruptocrat dictators learn what a REAL insurrection looks like.

Oh how stupid! If those people had wanted to bear arms into the Capital Building back then they could have. The ruling doesn’t add new capabilities to instances like that.

“Why are the attacks focused on Justice Thomas? Noticed that over the last week or so” [wiseprince, post 47]

Because he wrote the majority opinion for the decision invalidating New York City’s pistol-permit approval policies.

If honestly implemented, the decision will nullify laws all over the country that require “may issue” policies.

This is what Leftists do to people who make decisions they don’t like. They have been especially nasty toward racial minorities who stray from their orthodoxies.
