That's alright. Due to their circumstances, many people have no use for them (age, urban apartment, busy life with no time for the range, costs, simply no interest, lack of visibility in any direction,...). But we're all "pro-choice" with respect to firearms. ;)
And the rifles with standard magazines (mostly 30 rounds) are still in "common use"--very important in regards to a Supreme Court opinion.

Your point no 1 is correct. Had that experience with an FN AR ;an $1500 gun when I bought it new. Finally figured out some mods to correct the problem. Then gave to my son in law. I was really pissed about such an inexcuseable design flaw and will never buy another FN.

The FN AR is not related to the FAL, though. Not all FALs demonstrate vertical stringing and those that do aren’t usually all that bad. They turned out to be accurate enough in heavy combat use, though.

My 2009 F-150 SuperCrew has over 330K miles on it. Looks, runs, and drives like new. But yeah, takes more maintenance than an AR.

Not as dumb as you may think they are. This helps refute the Leftist assertion that AR/AK rifles are “not common” and “rare” and therefore “can be regulated as they are not normal arms used in hunting or sport and therefore aren’t covered under the 2nd Amendment.”
