Yes, the medical profession makes a ton more money in mutilation surgeries, hormone “therapy” and life long hormone treatment than helping a very young person to understand what they have is an errant mental obsession, not a “wrong body”. As another “detransitioned” person said in a statment I read recently - “I realized that what was wrong was not my body, it was my mind.”

Aren't there other "mutilation surgeries" out there and this is just considered an extension of the same thing? Examples: vasectomy, tubal ligation, bariatric surgery, hysterectomy, removal of ovaries (note I am not talking about surgery where it's to save the life of the patient e.g. remove a cancerous tumor). I am sure there are others that can be named. It's basically about taking a good functioning body part and then making it inoperable, when the real problem lies not in the body part but in behavior and attitude.

Your list of other surgeries are not analogous to transgender surgical mutiliation. With a transgender person there is nothing wrong with the body and it is functioning fine. What os wrong is the mind of the trangender person rejecting their own gpod working bodies. And the transgender mutilations are not just to remove good working parts, but to also recreate a resemnlence of parts that the body cannot make - a pretense of a vagina for a male and the pretense of a penis for the female. The males good working penis and testes is removed to make way for the pretend vagina and females perfectly fine vagina is reconfigured, with additional “borrowed tissue” to resemble a penia. The whole of it is mutilation and not at all similar to surgeries to remove or alter working sexual parts when they are not working right or are contain a cancer that cannot be removed with just drugs or radiation.
