I’ve never been that close to a mountain lion but, it would be dead if it were that close.

Will the human ones chase a laser? Inquiring minds with stiffies want to know?

Lucky for the cat. Might have actually hit it with a real gun.

This is about the size of the one I encountered. A full grown, around 200 pound cat. Pretty awesome.

The luck was his surviving despite his exceedingly poor decision making and marksmanship.

I was surprised he didn't drop the lion at that close range.

Judging from the video he was shooting to scare the cat, not to hit it.

But when you have a quart of adrenaline jammed in your veins, other things happen.

“Nice kitty, sweet kitty, little ball of fur,
Nice kitty, soft kitty, purr, purr, purr...”

Not happening in my house either. Eleven-pound Daisy bites me when I don’t do it her way. That’s what I get for adopting the alpha of the litter. You did better than I did. LOL

When I hike around Scout Mountain south of Pocatello, I always have at least my S&W 629 44mag with PMC 240 gr JHP. Since my last trip, I've acquired a Springfield XDm 10mm with 15 rd capacity. Loaded with hunting rounds, it would be satisfactory. We have lots of mountain lions up on that mountain. They come into town to stalk pets left unattended in the back yard. The most exposed yards are those with irrigation canals. A perfect path for the cat to hunt a meal.

What BS there is not a mountain lion alive today before man was in those woods.

So the lion was in mans territory.

There is no reason man kind should give way to wild animals.

When hunting in lion country one should have lion tag.

then just add one to the bag.

Idaho does allow lion hunting.

The mountain lion chose wisely. It gets to keep living as a result.
