My mom's dad was a Pennsylvania coal miner, my mom's mom was a bookkeeper at the coal mine, my dad's dad was a safety engineer at a coal mine in Pennsylvania, then at a copper mine in Minnesota, then back to Pennsylvania, my dad's mom was a housewife. They never committed any crime, neither did my dad or my mother or my siblings.

I’d say he might have some kind of a point if he’s talking about people who kill government employees. Depending upon the unconstitutional agency they work for, you might consider it a public service. Yet another reason to serve on a jury. It is possible you could reward someone appropriately for their service.
