He disappeared into private life because he has the integrity not to embarrass himself as a sore loser.

I always questioned is she was “qualified”.
She obviously was qualified under the US Constitution, but she never demonstrated success in any position, which you would want to see in a candidate.
She was handed a series of very high profile jobs and failed spectacularly at all of them. That is no reason she should be hired to fail at an even higher level.
