And I just read that the federal paperwork stated that the cops opened the door and, IIRC, that neither of the men had a hammer in hand, initially.

The Feds lied because woke NBC in woke San Fran is only taking the word of the Police Chief or someone that has provided them high level, accurate info previously to write that story.
They know Nancy has spiked two stories already.

He lives in an old schoolbus. I doubt he has a car. Even if he has a car, it might have made sense for him to use BART.
If you want to find street parking in Pacific Heights near Pelosi's house, rotsa ruck. But you can walk to the house from anywhere in San Francisco. The hills may be a problem.

They clearly did this knowing Nancy would go to Headquarters again.
If you look at other stories from this affiliate, they use the same exact language early in stories and the source is the either the Chief of Police or the DA Jenkins.
The reason the elites call crime theories "conspiracy" theories is usually because people see a conspiracy to hide the truth right in front of their faces, accompanied by gaslighting and emotional abuse from officials and media. The people trying to make sense of it are not the conspirators.
