Horsefeathers. I learned to read because of that show. It wasn’t until Children’s Television Workshop head Joan Ganz Cooney left the show turned into the junk it is now.

I loved Captain Kangaroo. My dad traveled when I was a little kid, so I think Captain Kangaroo was like a surrogate father to me during those years. I got to meet Bob Keeshan when I was all grown, and my daughter, then 9, went with me. He dolled all over her. I was chopped liver but so happy. He was exactly in person as I remembered him on the tv.

Loved Bob McGrath and Sesame Street too. It was just starting but I was too old for it. Kids I babysat watched it though. RIP Mr. McGrath.
