Yep. Your sperm ages right along with everything else. If I found my own bachelorhood suddenly comping to an end, I doubt that I would want to sire a child at my age (55).
I heard a public service radio ad the other day that went something like this: “if a teenager or an adult collapses, here’s how you do cpr”
Teenagers don’t have heart attacks.
Until proven otherwise, blame the shot.
. Statistics show that the children of middle-age-and-over men are quite likely to have mental or physical disorders of some sort and intensity.
Don't believe it?.....look it up on your search engine for the medical explanations for why this is a fact.

I was making the argument from the perspective of a 71 y/o man that if a man at his age is capable of producing children, good for him. I’m not making a moral judgement. I leave that to God. I’m making a physical observation.
And as a long-time member and poster to FR, circa 1998, I find the continual moralizing on this site anymore to be annoying. I’d say the quality of FReepers and the discourse here has declined immensely over the last 4-5 years.
::...his “Rhythm of My Heart” was a bad rip-off of Loch Lomond::

Not familiar with that piece, sorry. I have been spared the suffering. :)
its totally unfair to the child as well as the mom....
rant over...
I have to wonder if daddy dearest insisted on his child born of viagra was vaxxed.....
the vaxxes are killing people....
Parenting is for the young and there's a reason for that....
Same issue with females.
I think 35+ is considered a “geriatric pregnancy”.
Women are emotional.......it’s in their DNA.
You and I are on the same wavelength. I also love that music, the music of my parents’ generation. Always did, even as a teen. I love Big Band, Swing, and Dixieland.
Yes, the gentleman in your video is handsome. Even more handsome, in my opinion, was Perry Como. He and Nat Cole are my favorites. I went looking for a Como video to post back to you. Couldn’t find a suitable one that showed him singing something I liked. But I did see a video of him performing in Tokyo in 1996. He was 84 and still handsome. :)
All the best to you.
PS: I got really annoyed by Stewart when I heard an album in which he butchered some lovely old standard ballads.
Most likely a defect that entered via his upper arm.
I took a look at my county’s vax statistics. ~70% of the 12-17 age group are fully vaxed. It doesn’t say if they are boosted or not. Like I said, this is the first time I’ve heard of a young student dropping dead in a classroom.
I’m told scratchy voices were a thing, back when. May have started with Bob Dylan. Arlo Guthrie comes to mind, and some female singers just as bad but I can’t remember their names...well there’s Lotte Lenya but I mean after Dylan.
That has to be useful to our species in some way. Just not so much in politics or the voting booth.
COMING to an end (SMH)
Better to adopt a kid who is well past diaper age and enjoy the time you have left with him.
It’s not just the genes; the young are healthier and have more energy to keep up with the little rugrats.
I’ve never had a child, and at my age, I might as well give up any thoughts of siring one.
Now I'm really wondering about the panic attack explanation...
