LOL 😀
He DOES work his ass off.
Which is curious, because he's still got a HUGE ASS.
(gentle poking, usconservative, you Mister from another Sister!)
That Toyota will be more reliable than any Chrysler product. It should last the rest of your life...that is if the government still allows the sale of gasoline.
Will you marry me?
That’s the truck Mr. GG2 wants. I can’t wait for him to get out of that monster Dodge Ram 2500 with 6 spd manual transmission. The diesel fuel bill is insane.
Living frugally is something more people should do.
Nice truck. I got over the excitement of a new car in my mid 30s (early 40s now). My sweet spot is picking up 2-3 year just off lease cars with 20-25k miles on them, drive them for 3-4 more years (adding another 25-30k on them) and then do another one. Pretty minimal depreciation that way. I still can’t get over how expensive trucks are so I stick with nice sedans (currently driving an Audi A5) but if you are still financially in great shape, good for you!
Awesome…enjoy!!!
Taco Tuesday... or Saturday. Congratulations on buying a reliable, capable and fun vehicle, happy trails!
Your dealer will engrave VIN on cat. Paint it over with red, heat resistant paint. Thieves crawl under and see it and exit promptly without touchy cat.
Reminded me of a story told by a 72 year old single friend.
He had an older Toyota Carolla that he took excellent care of. Always washed and waxed.
He had 270k on it and ran like a top. But decided to get a truck rather than depending on others to take his boat in and out of the water at the lake.
He went into the dealership and spoke with the salesman about trading in his car for a new truck.
The salesman could not believe the condition of the car, given the amount of miles. And called all the body shop workers out to the parking lot to look at it. They were impressed.
He traded it in, and bought the same truck you did, but last years model.
Being single and retired, his top priorities are, his truck, his dog, his boat. In that order.
He has already this past summer applied 30 coats of wax to his new truck.
When he went back to the dealership, his Carolla was inside the showroom on display.
On a side note, he told me a joke. How can you tell who loves you more, your wife or your dog?
The way to find out is too lock both in the trunk, wait 20 minutes and when you unlock the trunk, you’ll know who loves you more by who is happier to see you. :>)) )
Chrysler has horrible water intrusion into the engine bay. Water is allowed to drip from the underside of the hood and lands on top of the coil paks and seeps down to the spark plug and eventually into the cylinder.
I spread a large garbage bag over the top of my Durango engine bay to keep the water out of the plugs when parked overnight.
Congrats, I have a 2004 Tacoma with 270k (I’m original owner) and a 2017 TRD Off-Road with 46k. Other than some brake work on the 2004, I’ve never had any repairs other than routine maintenance on either, and they have both been through some tough miles (hauling firewood, driving around the field and woods). Would never consider anything but another Toyota at this point.
A common statement for these vehicles. I’ve always wanted one for light duty instead of the Cummins all the time. I tend to get new vehicles every 20 years whether I need one or not.
I’d like to get my ‘72 Cheyenne Super that I bought new restored. Time and money is all it takes.
On a serious note, our dogs always chose me over her. When we separated prior to divorcing, that dog never left my side. It's like he knew what was going on and he wasn't going with her.
He (Teddy) passed almost five years ago now. Still miss him terribly. The ex-wife not so much (though I don't wish her ill will.)
Congratulations!
Yeah as opposed to UAW getting money and using it for even worse
I’ve got a Lincoln and a Dodge in my driveway and while I like them, the Acura I bought last year needs nothing but an occasional oil change, doesn’t rattle and seems light years ahead of even the ridiculously expensive Lincoln suv next to it in terms of quality
You and I think exactly alike. My "newest" cars have always been 3 year olds off corporate lease, 36k or under mileage. I'd drive them for a minimum of 9-10 years, keep them in good working condition, find someone who needs a good, reliable vehicle and give it to them, then purchase the next one off lease.
My vehicle prior to my Grand Cherokee was a 2003 GMC Envoy Denali. Perfect running order, no dents or scratches, some minor surface rust on the passenger side inside door seam.
Bought that off 3 year lease, put 110k on it, replaced the brake lines, rear control arm, coil packs and did a full tune-up on it, replaced the serpentine belt, cleaned the throttle body and washed it. It was fully loaded with every option and everything worked. (Memory seats, remote power mirrors, heated seats, Bose stereo, moonroof, roof racks & rails, tow package, everything.)
It went to a friends niece who'd been t-boned in her little Honda Civic. She spent 4 months in the hospital. Dad was looking for a SUV for her, wanting a larger vehicle to protect her, and my friend knew I was giving away my Envoy. She came with her dad to look at it. His eyes popped. "You're giving it away?" he said in disbelief. They took it for a test drive, came back, asked if I was sure. Went to the DMV the next day to transfer title to her, paid the sales tax ($25 in IL for the vehicle I was giving her) and she went home happy as a clam. Best part: she's still driving it. I freaking love that, and she takes very good care of it.
I looked at an MDX and while I really REALLY liked all the technology, how it drove, rode, etc.. I had one small problem: after four major lower back surgeries, I couldn't get in/out of it without banging my head on the door jamb. That's a deal-breaker for me. Beyond that, it was an EXCELLENT vehicle and I liked everything else about it.
Acura's are "Honda quality" with the luxury and high-tech added on. Great vehicles, IMO.
The position is open, although my girlfriend of the last 4.5 years might have something to say about it... :-)
