I 2as thinking that about bridget- wondered who hurt her so to let herself go like that? The photos look like they are stars who just gave up, though the plastic surgery photos look like they attempted to keep,up appearances artificial.y, but failed miserably.

Bridget Fonda was seriously injured in a car accident some time ago. She long ago retired from acting and has tried to remain out of the spotlight. She has remained married to musician Danny Elfman since 2003.

Speaking of old actors, anyone seen the movie "Val" about Val Kilmer on Amazon?

It's excellent. According to him, he was the first person he ever knew to buy a camcorder back in the early 80s and has documented his entire adult acting life since.

He's in rough shape. Cancer beat him up pretty good. Won't be at all surprised to see a "Val Kilmer RIP" thread in the next few years.

Really a nice, humble man.

First of all, Oprah never looked human.
Secondly, she must have paid off whoever put together these “before-and-after” pics.

For most of these, they purposely found the most flattering “before” pics, posed with full makeup - even airbrushed - and the least flattering “after” pic they could find - catching them doing errands on a bad day with no makeup.

For Oprah, they obviously let her pick both the before and the after pics.

I’m NOT posting ‘before and after’ pix of myself - from a Hottie at 18 to a Heifer at 62, LOL!

People get old...if they’re lucky! And so much of this is genetics. One of my best friends is in her mid-70’s and she can still pass for 40.

It ain’t fair, I tells ya!

However, as much as Hollywood disgusts me, I’d never be mean to someone just for AGING.

For being a jerk? Sure. ;)

Val nailed the character of doc in tombstone. Best doc I’ve seen. I ablut fell off the chair laughing when he was “drunk” at the table and challenged Ike to a spelling contest lol

Maybe my comment was too broad.

I only went to one - my 35th - none, and I mean not one of the most popular kids showed up. I asked others (some who were in the high school entourage of the popular kids) about the class presidents, the prom kings and queens, the top athletes, et al ... the answers were they disappeared no one knows where they are, they inexplicably stopped after the 10th reunion, they have health or other issues, and the old “Trust me, you don’t want to see them”.

“If they aren’t out there lecturing everyone else. Leave them alone.”

I agree with you on that. Well said.

Some of the women who did the horrid facial surgeries look the worst.

I would rather see a woman (or man) age gracefully into their senior years then have their face cut up by Freddie Kruger.

Angela Langsbury had shown that a beauty queen can remain “beautiful” as they age.

Entertainment and Sports require a lot of self discipline and effort to maintain a body to meet the expectation of their career path and when their career ends so does the reason for all the self sacrifice and discipline.

But it is not unique to “stars” it happens to “normal” people as well. How many over 50 today look like they did when they were 20 (if you do, great you won the genetic lottery, but for the average person they have gained a few pounds and what hair they have left is grey).

LOL.

True ... that ... especially one gets old if one is blessed.

In last few years there are articles out their that genetics might be only 10%, 20% tops related to aging problems/challenges. Life style choices over a lifetime are being looked at as the major factor. But even that isn’t full proof.

Never knew that about Kilmer; all I’d noticed is he’d dropped out of the limelight...thanks for taking the time to post it.

These are obviously some of the people who have gone downhill in their older age. Meanwhile there are some who seem to be able to stave off (with a little help) the ravages of Father Time. Tom Cruise comes to mind as does Dennis Quaid (dude is in his mid-60's and chiseled) Stallone looks older facially, but seems to keep himself in good physical condition, especially in his mid-70's. Salma Hayek still looks phenomenal and natural as does Jennifer Lopez. I am sure there are other examples as well.

Focus on what you can control such as diet, exercise and lifestyle and you can remain healthy and looking fit well into your later years. The narcotics, sugar, alcohol, and smoking will age you exponentially.

A lot of the biggest starlets of the 30s, 40s and 50s lived long, healthy lives and aged gracefully into their 90s

Without all the face chopping

I agree. I think it's a bit tasteless for the paparazzi to snap a pic of someone like Bridget Fonda, who hasn't worked in over 20 years and stays out of the spotlight, and go, "What happened? She used to be hot! Now she's old and fat!"
