Stop shooting people that lose their way and stumble near your property
It’s stupid and you should be jailed if you have no more sense or decency than that
In your driveway to turn around. This thug will find out the hard way that being a jerk will give you life behind bars. I’m thrilled to see him locked up. He’s a menace to society and does damage to 2nd amendment patriots.
This is the new antigun meme now. People shooting others randomly just because they are in the wrong place by honest mistake. Proof that guns should be confiscated.
Go ahead and shoot the next person who comes on your property. Let us know how it ends for you.

And perhaps not without good reason. But you can’t just haul off and gun people down for knocking on your door, or pulling a car into your driveway.
It was in a rural area. They were looking for a friend’s house at night. Regardless being in the wrong driveway or knocking on the wrong door is not a reason to get shot. Similar incident happened in one of the towns I lived in South Carolina.

Victim blame, much? She was in a car with several other people, doubt this guy even got a look at any of them. Guess what, you’re not allowed to kill people because they “look scary” either.
Sheesh, some of these comments are really offensive. Is this the new Freeper standard? Neither this woman nor the black guy did anything wrong. They (or in the case of the girl, the driver) made mistakes. You never did that? You want to get shot to death the next time you do?
I’ll tell you who made the mistakes here, the two dopes who pulled the trigger. They are both going to jail probably for the rest of their lives.
It certainly would matter for the person who did the shooting, since they’ll probably end up in prison for a very long time.

Nah, there have always been a distinct percentage of idiot FReepers, just like among any other group you can think of.
Just because the media tells you it was something as simple as a driveway turnaround, it’s just possible there is more to it than that.

No. it is a civil offense, punishable usually by a fine or civil penalty, unless an actual crime is committed during the trespass.
Along many roads the community owns 10 -15’ beyond the pavement, so the portion used might be public not private. Stupid reason to shot at someone either way.

Indeed! Simple is a good adjective for the idea that one can shoot a person for being on your property.
Exactly- both stories are horrible but this is the end result of crime going through the roof and the criminals ending up as the victims rather than the real victims themselves.
A guy in Clearwater, Florida shot another man and started yelling, I was standing my Ground". Now he is standing his ground, inside the fence of one of Florida's Correctional Institutions. And will for the remainder of his life.
