I did the same, actually watched the sketch. During that couple of minutes I wasn’t so much concerned with what Steven Crowder was saying, I was just shaking my head at the thought that Mattel decided to go ahead and make the damn thing in the first place.
Mattell is virtue signalling and he is calling them on it. A downs child wouldn’t care what doll she had, she sees herself as normal.

When I was in college I volunteered to live on what was called the โhandicappedโ floor of my dormitory. They paired up normal kids with kids who had various types of challenges. We lived with our roommates but also helped other kids on the floor get to their classes and assist them in class.
Scott was a star athlete in high school who got drunk and smashed into a tree and almost killing himself. He couldn't use half of his body and had a hard time talking. I had a psychology class with him. He was always raising his hand and asking the professor completely inappropriate questions. The professor could never understand what Scott had asked so he would ask me to repeat the question for the class.
โScott would like to know which brand of dog food Pavlov used to train his dogs.โ Even nearly 50 years ago college professors would still pander to the disabled, so the professor would go into a long explanation about why it didn't matter. The rest of the students in the class blamed me for the stupid questions and gave me a bad time constantly.
I don't remember any spontaneous and sincere discussions about Scott, but the local paper wrote a long mostly fictional article about how great the former football star was doing in college.
Earlier today I saw some sort of makeup commercial featuring a black woman with this weird skin condition descending out of the sky on a parachute.
First time I saw it I wasn't paying attention, but I thought it looked bizarre. The next time I saw it I paused it. Yup. There was this huge white clown paint looking pattern around her mouth. Very unpleasant to look at.
I thought to myself, "They are selling makeup and they use someone who looks like this?"
For years there has already been a Barbie with Stiff Limb Syndrome.
I was in a men's meeting and a young man with Down's Syndrome stood up and talked about something completely off topic.
After reading earlier on FR about Crowder being such an ass to his pregnant wife and all his anger issues, this doesn’t surprise me. I am so disappointed because I like Crowder.
It started with some definite disclaimers from Crowder himself. The doll looks almost exactly like our neighbor who does not have Down's Syndrome. Those who are having conniptions over the bit are mostly over sensitive virtue signalers.

I guess we’ll see how he handles this. Most of the YT and Rumble comments were pretty bad towards him. I didn’t even know he was getting divorced. On top of that, Dave Landau, who was the part thing about his show, apparently had issues with Crowder as well.
That is probably who I saw. I wish her well, but I don't know why anyone would pick her to sell makeup.
