pitbull? who cares. They should all be put down.
Not enough info in the excerpt to form an opinion.
And I doubt the video is all that complete as well.
Most owned dogs in Manhattan below the bad parts north of the park are very acclimated and have lost their situational awareness
They live on a lead once past the doorman
This is particularly heinous if that was an apartment pet
That dog would have had no innate fear of another since it passed 100s a day
Unlike my semi rural rottie who’s always aware
Does this make since here?
(Resident Manhattan 82-88)
Indeed. You get what you vote for.
The victim dog in the video does not look like a pit. The jaw is too narrow.
"The heartbroken owner rushed Eli to a vet on 63rd Street, where doctors found a tumor that likely would have killed the pooch in about five months, he said. That, combined with the internal injuries and the thousands of dollars it would have cost to try to patch him back up, left Brian with little choice but to put him down."
It sounds like self defense to me. He didn’t shoot the pit bull. He stabbed it to death. Obviously, that dog was awfully close, and apparently it didn’t even run away with the first stab.

Two problems.
One, how do you define a pit bull?
Two, many professionals disagree with your characterization.
Chet? Is that you?
And many heart care professionals think that gender modification for children is fine. What's your point?
I doubt you’d feel the same way if it was your dog.

Other than the fact that you’re trying to change the subject, what is your point?
A broad characterization is OK.
So you think destroying other peoples property is okay as long as you don’t like it?

If the killer had dogs he’ll be out walking them again.
If he killed my dog I’m pretty sure the next time he took his dogs to the park a random mugger would beat him to within an inch of his life with a baseball bat.

Not if you’re taking someone’s property. You must have a compelling reason to take someone’s property. I don’t like the way your dog looks isn’t compelling.
It is “I don’t like the way your dog sees people as meat”.

And, you have the magical ability to read a dogs mind?
I take it that recognizing subtlety isn't your strong suit. Obviously, that professionals aren't always the sharpest knives in the drawer. You seem to be putting a lot of trust in professionals who might have other agenda other than telling you the unvarnished truth.
