pitbull? who cares. They should all be put down.

No, they shouldn’t be.
If you don’t like pits don’t buy one.

What a heartless comment. The dog was a mix. And the dog did nothing wrong. The attacker should be put down.

I take it that recognizing media bias isn’t one of your strong suits. You seem to be putting a lot of trust in the media who have an agenda (scary dog stories) other than telling you the unvarnished truth about pit bulls.

pit lovers are mentally diseased. Always ready to defend “poor baby pits” against any criticism but when children are regularly mauled they are either silent or blaming the children for upsetting the dogs. Just like a liberal always making excuses. The only heartless person are those who are ok with wild animals ripping the face off innocent children because “muh pits”.

Actually, I have had three negative experiences with pit bulls that tell me all I need to know about them. I don't need the media or pit bull activists to form my opinion.

Funny ‘cause I’m not a pit defender. This dog didn’t do any mauling and lived a long life with a much smaller dog. Plus he was not full pit. The article said they discovered some cancer when they took him in for his injuries so he wasn’t much longer for this world, but he didn’t deserve to have this be part of his end. I feel bad for the owners, the dog, and his canine buddy.

I lived with a roommate for over 4 years and the first 2 ½+ years I lived in her house, she had an elderly Rottweiler.

He was not mean or aggressive but not exactly “friendly” either, rather aloof which was OK with me as to be honest I’m a bit more of a cat person than a dog person although I like dogs too, just not the yappy, overly needy, jumping in your face, licking you all the time types of dogs. So, Luke was in a way, just my kind of dog.

She worked a night shift and after she’d leave for work, Luke would come into my room for a pat on the head and lay on the floor in my room for about 5-10 minutes and then would go back to the 3rd floor to her room to sleep on her bed for the rest of the night.

While I never saw him being aggressive, he was “watchful” and would growl if a stranger came to the door, so he made me feel a bit safer being home alone at night.

Every once and a while when she was working OT, I’d have to try to get him to come downstairs so I could let him out into the fenced back yard for his morning constitutional. It was preceded and followed by a treat which he took politely but without showing any outward affection or appreciation toward me, only an ever so slightly wag of his stumpy tail then straight back up to the 3rd floor to sleep on my roommate’s bed.

After he passed due to cancer, my roommate had a friend who had a boxer-pit mix asked if she (we) could dog sit for her when she went on vacation.

My roommate wanted her and I to meet Leigha first to see how she behaved, and it went well.

Leigha was a real sweetheart and took a real liking to me, sleeping in my bed every night and even during the day when I was at work and following me around the house when I was home.

My roommate joked that for someone who wasn’t exactly a “dog person” “she sure took a liking to you”. And I to Leigha, even when she’d wake me up at night with her nuclear doggy farts and was a bed hog. LOL!

I grew up with a Boxer and saw more Boxer than pitty in Leigha.
