That is a positive. And, thankfully this was never perceived as a rescue mission which is far more dangerous for the responders than a recovery mission.
I dont think it’s really that complicated. The Navy picked up the implosion, but they could have detected it 1,000 miles away. (There’s a reason fro that).
The sub supposedly lost contact with the mother ship before, that wasn’t unusual. The dolts running this operation from the surface didn’t know any better. Thus the delay in reporting.
The was like an amateur operation run by a guy who buys everything.
The titanium and steel parts are amazingly intact, so too the nose cone (?) and wiring but the rest of it is gone. So sad that Stockton’s pride was the end of four other people.
