How common is it for reporters to go looking for dirty on famous people's college kids or for classmates to provide it? There's nothing suspicious about not hearing about how somebody's kid is doing in college.

Yes. We would ask the same courtesy for Baron, if he were to mix in with the general public. Or any of the Trump grandchildren. They didn’t decide to be born near the Eye of the Storms. If they end up becoming political and giving out opinions to the public, such as with Meghan McCain, that’s a different story.

Back in the halcyon days of peak Obama, c. 2008, I remember watching “Washington Week” or whatever show Charles Krauthammer did back then, and gentlemanly Afro-American pundit William Raspberry joked about wanting to fix up his grandsons with Sasha and Malia. Not sure Raspberry would feel the same way now.
In fairness, life with Barry and Mooch ain’t necessarily been easy for S & M. The parents have incessantly pushed a race-hustling, us-versus-them, BLM narrative totally at odds with the family’s actual life of the White House, Sidwell Friends, Martha’s Vineyard. Perhaps it takes a pack of Newports and a ghetto-chic manicure for young Sasha to feel like an authentic “Black” person.
