Reminds me of a judge I used to appear before in court. His law clerk told me the judge had one chore at home: walking the dog. Everything else in his whole world was done for him by his wife or his staff. He was one arrogant #%^!

Got a text from this guy’s campaign asking me for a $1 donation so he can make the primary debate. Damn shame. STOP was my reply.
Not to defend Pence, but this pickiness makes our side look like fools.
His pitch comes as he prepares to pump gas—before selecting grade, and squeezing handle. He had already done some prep with fuel door & cap and paying, after which time he returned to cab to replace or retrieve wallet, they assume we’ll understand.
It’s weak from a production standpoint, but several takes as normally required with actual pumping of gas would overfill the tank.
Sorry, I like to be on very solid ground with my critiques (per tagline). His campaign is not worth this much energy.
His recent admission that he “could have” paused the voting, except for the chaos, was priceless, bolstering Trump’s claim that the procedural rules were tightened to prevent a VP from such action because at the time it was proper and lawful——just rare.
It’s an ad-hoc production. If he had to stand there and fiddle with his card, scanners, and the dozens of apps we pleebs have to deal with then the commercial would be 90 seconds of him fiddling with crap before the nozzle even left the pump.
Plus a lot of us have to do into our banking app to transfer money to get to the correct card to buy the gas.. often paying percentages or almost a dollar to even access our own money.
He was trying to make the process look tedious.. but they missed the essence of the problem.
Americans aren’t crippled when it costs them 2 dollars more every few days to fill up. They are crippled because a vast number of those people have to turn on their Uber driver app when the tank reaches 1/4 so they can cash out and afford it.
I can’t figure out if he has more starch in his shirt or his body. So stiff.
Micro Pence should be vilified at every opportunity.

Not to mention his normal verbosity, though not evident in this advert. He takes all damn day in a preacherly manner to say little . He did radio in a previous life, so he has the gift of gab. Drives me crazy.
Lol! None. My life is much more boring than that. I used to practice law and was regularly appearing in court on behalf of the US Trustee in bankruptcy cases.
Trump should make a parody ad where an Indian comes into the frame yelling at Pence for trying to drive away without paying.

But I’d take it one step further. You know those reality shows where they “swap husbands” and the guy goes and lives in the other guy’s house for a week?
Do that, but each candidate has to “swap” with a random voter with a household income under 100k. Do their job, their chores, listen to their spouses’ complaints, etc. Bet some of them bow out before even 24 hours are up.
I remember as a kid growing up in Jersey, we would go to the local sandwich shop/ gas station. The owner let us pump gas if they were busy making sandwiches. We now are the only state that does not permit drivers to fill up their tanks.
Agreed. I later thought he could have got started before the camera rolled, because showing that wouldn’t necessarily add anything and might be a distraction to the viewer. To be honest, if I had seen this without knowing about the commentary, I probably wouldn’t have thought anything about it.
Pompous Pence is creepy.
