And here's your chance to have the last ignorant word. Enjoy it.I'm out.
You’re right. That video makes it clear what happened and why the officers reacted the way they did.
LOL...And you come up with zero zip..
You people throw out comments like involuntary burps...You guys have no clue here if ya think, “Cops are trained to stand in front of running vehicles occupied by criminal suspects”.
That’s some funny sh*t.
There should be a receipt for whatever she removed from the store. Unless, of course, she is one of those people who don’t keep their receipts.
Undoubtedly. Any store nowadays has cameras covering every square foot 24x7. Near the registers, cameras from every angle.
These days, shoplifting is not a whim, it's a business. Seems like most cases, they're stealing huge quantities, and of course, shoplifters--who usually work in pairs or gangs--have a reputation for killing anyone who slows them down on the way out.
I hate to say it, but today, it's so dangerous to everyone concerned that to me, if you took the stuff, you bought the bullet.
Entering a store with intent to steal is burglary. A felony. Attempting to elude or evade the police is a felony. (In my jurisdiction, anyway.). Inviting a felony stop is stupid.
When a cop has a gun drawn, I assume that shooting is an option.
One long-lasting byproduct of the Rodney King riots: cops mostly no longer carry batons. In the past, a cop would have taken his baton and whacked her hands off the wheel. She would have broken finger bones, but she would have been alive.
Funny how the headline doesn’t mention that she deliberately drove at, and struck an officer. She used the car as a weapon, the officer responded. Period.
And she probably shoplifted, so too bad, so sad.
The world’s better off with one less 80 IQ breeder.
I've read a few stories on this shooting. It appears she was with a group of people who were stealing alcohol bottles from Kroger Supermarket. They left the store together and then scattered to different vehicles.
When confronted by the cops, she said, to paraphrase, "I wasn't stealing. Those other girls were." and then proceeded to disregard the cops' orders to comply.
It can also be mentioned that the Lexus she was driving was parked in a handicapped space and had no license plates.
Sure it is. And the potential consequences for doing otherwise are laid out in the law.
If that’s their training then their training procedures are poor.
“ failing to obey the orders of the police is an indicator of behavior that may endanger others.”
Sorry but that’s beyond a stretch, yes it’s stupid to disobey a cop, but to supposition your refusal to do so makes you a danger to others in and of itself?!? Sorry that’s just nonsense.
Yes she should have complied, but putting yourself in front of a vehicle particularly for an alleged non violent infraction is just foolish, if that’s training then that’s a dumb procedure that needs to be updated. Putting your life in direct harm to protect others as a peace officer, sure.. but to do so when there is no direct threat to others? That’s foolishness
If this person have been alleged to have been violent or waving around weapons or even threatening people, etc sure but given the facts of this situation, that’s just silly.
She should have obeyed, but that doesn’t negate this was an insanely escalated situation for a shop living allegation… seems to me policies and procedures need evaluated here
As civilization circles the drain, you post that flaccid nonsense.
“”””Young slowly accelerated her car toward””””
NBC running cover for the perp as expected.
“Slowly” really???????
They could have said “gently and respectfully.”
Act civilized and you won’t get shot.
If comments like that are what make your trailer parks badass… well congratulations.
Unless she had a gun. And they didn’t know, one way or the other.
If only the cops had been trained social workers....
