I had an Aunt and Uncle that owned a fishing camp close to Yellowstone park. They were friends to game wardens etc. we used to hear all kinds of stories about people interacting with bears. One fellow had his wife and kids in the car and was trying to push a bear into the drivers seat for a picture. Now usually when a bear is by the road Park Rangers show up quickly to keep people from interacting with bears.
Poster boy for this nonsense is “Grizzly Man”. The fellow in Alaska who hung out with grizzly bears . “Grizzly Man” was totally ignorant about bears and had no respect for them., until one ate him and his girl friend.
I enjoy lining up my lens through a hole in the heavy wire game fence, or through the car window, making sure it looks like wild nature in the background, and then convincing my friends that I walked up to 6 feet of a buffalo. The more they get agitated and insist it was dangerous, the more oblivious I seem…. God fun.
Good fun that is. Although I’m sure God gets a chuckle out of it also.
Maybe they should make all visitors sit through a video about wildlife attacks. I once saw a video of a man who got out of his car to feed a bear and got his arm detached at the shoulder. That kind of stuff. And, since it is Yellowstone, include what happens when people fall into hot water.
Natural selection. Stupidity is punished in nature.
I saw a man in The Smoky Mountains try to take a picture of two bear cubs. He walked between momma bear and the cubs and leaned over to take the picture.
The mother bear rushed him and clawed his backside, leaving him with no pants and bleeding profusely down his buttocks and legs. He managed to get into his car.
Last week I saw a young couple holding their toddler down with her legs almost to the ground. They were chasing a flock of Canadian Geese with the child. They had no idea how aggressive and powerful geese are.
That’s why they’re called “tourons” lol.
I bet they all got all the jabs and boosters.
Sow black bears are far more known to run away leaving their cubs behind then defending them.
I have seen it many times when hunting black bears.
That’s a fair example of what I understand, except(with a few exceptions) tourists in the Black Hills of S.D. seem to be more aware of wild animals with the emphasis on “wild”. Some of the animals there are apparently more familiar with tourists.
Well, the Scouts were destroyed because they were mean-spirited. Nobody really needs to learn wildlife safety in childhood when they can learn about gay sex in school.
Self correcting problem😨🤕😢😭😨
The Yellowstone bears were prepping to take those tourists to the train station
Most if these moron don’t vote
Beautiful picture. So...not all moose have the flattened part in their antlers? Always thought that was a defining feature.
Nope, that “moose” sure doesn’t have the shovel antlers.
