You need to take some deep breaths. The response to coverups is not seriousness but ridicule to express obvious disbelief and contempt.

My personal view is that there is nothing there but some efforts to keep folks from finding out about "the crown jewels" which are usually technologies that are 20-40 years obsolescent.

I’m thinking someone outside the “system” with a degree in some discipline of Physics would have been the best choice. Promoting from the ranks (someone already indoctrinated and “enlightened”) always seems to be the preferred method in these circumstances. I look at it this way: gov. trying to show “we’re doing something”. I personally am not pro-NASA in this endeavor; they’re too stovepiped thru the classification system at the Pentagon to be trustworthy.

But, it’s movement. I think, whether you hold pro or con vis a vis UAP, any motion to disturb the Deep State to declassify is in the Republic’s favor. No more secrets.

I’m no scientist or theoretician, but it seems to me, that 99% of the value of secrecy, is in the secrecy, not the actual content. All freedom seekers from the conservative side should be seeking to loosen fedgov’s monopoly on data. It benefits us all.

I can’t argue your point, I’ve never read Schaeffer. However, wouldn’t his assumption have been that the deterministic, materialist scientific method was the problem? We may be on the cusp of understanding the role of consciousness in the universe, and our observations of it.

That just not true.

Testimony was given to Congress that physical threats have been made against civilian and military whistleblowers. One whistleblower who ran a DOD program similar to the NASA program testified in unclassified and classified Congressional hearings and even in a complaint made against the DOD and Intelligence Community (filed--under oath--with Intelligence Community Inspector General Thomas A. Monheim) that, among other things, his house was broken into and his family was threatened.

Here's a bit from NASA (Source):

Dan Evans, an assistant deputy administrator at NASA, told reporters Thursday that members of the independent report committee received threats...

“That’s in part why we are not splashing the name of our new director out there, because science needs to be free,” Evans said. “Some of [the incidents] rose to actual threats.”

Not social media ridicule. Threats...presumably of harm to property or person or career.

I see it differently. Adding missions like ufo investigations just grows government. Lets look at ufo’s after we get rid of departments of education, housing and urban development, ATF, and IRS.

Both naturalism (all that exists is what we can sense) and materialism (all that exists is matter and void) are ancient nature systems revived and updated for our time.

The genesis of materialism is in ancient Egypt, China, and Greece. It was Greek nature sages, the Atomists, who systematized Atomism which today is materialism, and little changed from that time.

It was the Atomists (Epicureans) and Stoics (today's mystical pantheist New Age) who mocked Paul:

According to all nature systems from Hinduism, Buddhism, modern naturalism, modern materialism, New Age Luciferianism, and Wicca, for example, there is only one dimension...the space/time dimension...which some believe contain interior dimensions, or astral planes.

The Creator God of the Bible does not exist within the space/time dimension but outside of that dimension, beyond the reach of man, his science, and his instruments.

Think of the space/time dimension as a snow globe. All around the snow globe, unseen and unreachable by the globes miniscule lifeforms is the supernatural dimension, the realm of the Creator God who is personal, conscious, omniscient, all-powerful.

We live because He is Life. We are conscious because He is conscious. We are souls (source of our personality) embedded within physical matter because that is how He created us, as beings who interact with both the physical and spiritual dimensions posited by modern materialists (all that exists is matter) and by mystical pantheists (all that exists is Mind)

You utterly miss the point. If you believe that UFOs are extra-terrestrial vistors, we are done here. You are a nut case. If, however, you believe as I do that it is a combination of hoaxes, nut cases and the government trying to maintain cover for top secret projects as I do then there is a basis for a rational discussion. Part of the problem is that if you are trying to maintain cover for somethings you have to treat the nutcases and hoaxes the same way as the real stuff -and that is how it all becomes insane. Because once you make it clear that these 200 things are hoaxes and nutcases and these five things we will shoot you if you ask about you have told everyone where to go look.

So you get everyone investigating the hoaxes and the conspiracies about covering up the hoaxes and no one gets near the real stuff because they are so busy on the conspiracy to cover up a hoax that it all goes nowhere.

I have reached certain conclusions based upon everything I know about it and the utter lack of any convincing evidence on the other side and my too vast knowledge of how govenment bureaucracies really work. Your mileage may differ. To date I have suffered no untoward consequences of disbelief in the reality of extra-terrestrial visits involving observable aerial transportation mechanisms.
